Thames Innovation Centre shares in the success of innovative client

Thames Innovation Centre, based on the Veridion Park development has been sharing in the success of one of their tenants who have just been awarded the prestigious Carbon Trust Standard (CTS) certification.
CTS certification is a rigorous process requiring applicants to genuinely reduce their carbon footprint and put initiatives in place to achieve further future reductions.
Citrica an environmentally aware cleaning company based within the centre is the first in its sector to achieve the standard and is now leading the way in carbon neutral cleaning.
Citrica, which offers a wide range of contract and building services, has long been an advocate of sustainability – having a well-established reputation as a pioneer. Other achievements include being the first cleaning company to achieve environmental management standard ISO 14001, and the first in its sector to go carbon neutral in 2008.
One key factor in turning their operation carbon clear was their decision to move to the Thames Innovation Centre a flagship £8.2 million development in the London Borough of Bexley and winner of the Green Apple Award in 2007.
The centre has been built to address the environment, using solar panels to assist water heating, intelligent lighting systems, air climate control systems and brise soleil solar shading systems.
The Thames Innovation Centre is wholly owned by the London Borough of Bexley and in addition to being environmentally friendly they offer a range of office and meeting facilities at the centre they are also responsible for providing all of the business support for the Borough of Bexley via a range of informative workshops and one to one advice sessions. This service is available for anyone living or has a business in the Borough.
